This poem was written during the two months that we lived in the Anza-Borrego Desert in Southern California.

The desert wind… it’s nothing at all…
or is it something at fall,
winter, spring and summer?
Ever lurking to show its presence…
It pushes you to the ground
and then swirls around
and picks you up again
and puts you down.
It puts you through changes
while blowing the sages
and all of the pages
of your book.
